Can every company apply for employees benefit from the welfare?
The companies eligible for the employees benefit from the welfare have to have all these required qualifications:
- A corporate entity
- The company has more than 10 full time employees, age 15 - 65 years old, and healthy as of the date the insurance is effective.
- Employees must be able to self insured in the social security system according to the Social Security Act
- In the case where an employer pays all the insurance interest, all employees eligible need to apply for the insurance. In the case where employees partially pay,the rate of participation in the insurance has to be more than 75% of those eligible.
How to extend the coverage?
Muang Thai Life Assurance will deliver a notice for an extension to clients before the insurance expires at least 30 days. The interest rate after extension may change depending on the number of applicants and the insurance claims in the past year. If clients are interested in extending the contract, they can fill in the form delivered and send the form to Muang Thai Life Assurance.
What is the criteria for considerations in choosing an insurance?
An employer can apply for a group life-insurance as benefits for employees. Additional Options are available for other insurances such as coverage for group accident, disability insurance, and group health insurance. In the case where an employer wants to apply for an insurance for employees’ spouse and offspring, they are eligible only to group health insurance of the employees and they must participate in group coverage.
If employees do not carry their insurance card, do they have to pay for the bill first?
In the case where employees do not bring their insurance card to receive treatments, they need to pay for the bill first then send the receipt (an actual document) and a doctor’s verification letter (an actual document) to their company’s human resource department to rebate.

With a group insurance, Muang Thai Life Insurance will deliver a document that serves as insurance interest for clients to make payment within 30 days after the billing date. Clients can pay the insurance premium in group insurance in 2 ways:
- Cheque, making a payment to “Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited”
- Transfer fund to a current account “Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited” Kasikorn Bank, Ratchadapisek Huai Khwang Branch. Account number 089-1-02325-1. Also submit a copy of the receipt and name the company registered for a group insurance to Fax number 02-2779170
The insurance premium of a group insurance is considered from the amount of saving spent on the insurance, age, gender, and job position of people in the group--all factors considered; the interest for everyone in the group shall be averaged resulting in a single number and apply to all. The insurance premium for the insurance is being re-evaluated every year.
